Tour Natchitoches with Barbara will offer Steel Magnolias Tours during the Blush and Bashful weekend. The Tour includes Filming Sites as well as the actual Harling Family House and the Beauty Shop House that inspired the Setting for the Play and Movie.  Cost is $20 per person. Children 6-12 $10 per person. Children 5 and under free.

2:00 PM – Armadillo Cake Contest. Entries will drop off cakes at the NSULA Family & Consumer Sciences Building, Room 225 (Columns Cafe) between 2:00-4:00 PM. Judging will begin at 4:30 PM. Click HERE to download the Contest Entry Form.

Friday, Nov. 8
6:00 PM – Red Carpet Premiere of Steel Magnolias at Parkway Cinema where the movie originally premiered in 1989.

7:00 PM & 9:30 PM – Show times. $5 movie ticket (Friday only) Tickets can be purchased at HERE. (Showings continue through Nov.14)

Saturday, Nov. 9
9:30 AM – Unveiling of the Natchitoches Film Trail at the Natchitoches Welcome Center, 780 Front Street Suite 100

9:00 AM-4:00 PM – The Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches presents a special tour of homes and sites used in the filming of the movie Steel Magnolias. Special events will be held at selected locations along the tour, as well as a speaker series and exhibit at the Lemee House entitled “Behind the Scenes of Steel Magnolias.” Tickets will be available soon.

10:00 AM-12:00 PM – Kid-friendly Easter Egg Hunt for ages 10 and under in Beau Jardin 

2:00-3:00 PM – Steel Magnolias Movie Panel discussion and displays at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum

4:30 PM – Character Look-Alike Contest on the Downtown Riverbank Stage with guest emcee John Richmond

7:00-10:00 PM – “A Blush and Bashful Evening: 30 Years of Steel Magnolias”
Accompany the owners of Steel Magnolia House B&B, Ms. Desiree And Mr. Dan Dyess of Natchitoches, La., along with their inn staff, for a Blush and Bashful Reception Remix. “A Blush and Bashful Evening: 30 Years of Steel Magnolias” will provide an enchanting evening full of lasting memories, fantastic catered Louisiana cuisine, toe-stomping Zydeco music, dancing, and a bleeding armadillo cake to die for! Cocktail attire, semi formal or 80’s themed is preferred. Tickets are limited and are now available for purchase for $100.00 per ticket. 10:30 AM – St. Augustine Catholic Church invites the public to mass at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the church where the wedding scene took place.

11:00 AM-1:00 PM – Blush & Bashful Brunch at the Prud’homme-Rouquier House
Join the Natchitoches Historic Foundation and Service League of Natchitoches for a Sunday brunch even Ouiser wouldn’t pass up.
